Over the past quarter century, LES GmbH has analyzed and dimensioned both the vessel shells, the supporting elements and the internals, especially the heating surfaces and their load transfer of various types of synthesis gas coolers for mechanical and thermal loads according to ASME VIII/1, ASME VIII/2, EN13445-3, PD5500 or AD2000 for various customers. In part, the LES GmbH staff determined the wind and earthquake loads according to ASCE, UBC, SBC, Eurocode, Chinese Code, Australian Standard and with flexibility calculations according to ANSI B31.1, ANSI B31.3 or EN13480-3 the pipe connection loads and developed corresponding load transfer concepts.

Gasification Reactors

The reactors analyzed by the employees of LES GmbH have been used for years in energy generation, chemical production of synthesis gas and as gasification reactors in biomass utilization and contribute to energy conversion and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We are particularly proud that some reactors have been combined with CO2 capture technologies, helping to purify the synthesis gas produced and capture the CO2 before it is released into the atmosphere. In this way, we too are making a small, modest contribution to the production of clean energy from fossil fuels or biomass.

IBL employees have analyzed and dimensioned the vessel shells of gasification reactors for entrained-flow gasification, fluidized-bed gasification and steam reforming in accordance with ASME VIII/1, ASME VIII/2, EN13445-3, PD5500 or AD2000.
If requested by the customer, IBL employees also determine the wind and earthquake loads in accordance with ASCE, UBC, SBC, Eurocode, Chinese Code, Australian Standard and dimension suitable load-bearing elements for load transfer.
